Fashion News:

The elegance of shapes and style

Judy Zhang's Fall-Winter 2021-22 collection is inspired by the style and elegance of Anna May Wong, the first Sino-American film star as well as the first Asian-American to become an international celebrity. Between the 1920s and 1930s, she became a style icon because of the way she dressed and spoke, and especially because of her attitude, which defied the conventions of the time.

In each collection, designer Judy starts from a thread that fully embodies the union of Western and Eastern culture that she knows how to mix skillfully. The elegance of the shapes and style of the collection recall the inspirational character that encompasses the first two worlds: America and China. His beloved Italy is shown in the print that represents the Presena Glacier, which is gradually turning pink because of an alga. The evocative images of the glacier enchant the eye, but the presence of the algal blooms are bad news for his health, as the darker snow absorbs more solar energy and this leads to a fast melting of the glacier.

The visual graphic of the collection is precisely this chromatic stain tinged with pink, green, blue and a hint of red, and is chosen for the "suits" with feminine silhouettes for the waistline of the blazers, combined with masculine cut pants and super tight polo neck jackets.
The luxurious fabrics, shaped with mastery to create coats, dresses, blazers, pants, shirts and skirts with a sartorial cut and details, characterize the selective choice of the designer who proposes silk, wool, cashmere, velvet and special Japanese fabric. Fuchsia mohair has been chosen for the warm coat with its unmistakable pointed collars and waist belt.

Blue and green leather is, instead, the material chosen for the tank top to be worn with the shirts with important sleeves and her skirt with a deep slit. Each garment is a hymn to Chinese haute couture that the designer wants to bring with pride in the world.
The palette of colors that tinge the creations of Judy are the inevitable black and white, accessed by a thousand shades of blue and green, as well as camel and pink.

Beads, on the other hand, are used to make embroideries reminiscent of orchid flowers to embellish denim shirts and pants.
The important structure of the shoulders of jackets and shirts, made with a particular technique, the tight suits and the mini-skirt with beads tell the character of Judy Zhang's woman who stands out for its courage, independence and sensuality, always ready to fight for the things she believes in even against all convention.
