Davi’s eighth collection explores the secret life and mysterious obsessions of the poet Marcel Proust during his errands to the Parisian brothel Hotel Marigny with his friend Albert Le Cuziat.
This new collection represents an imaginary wardrobe of the writer if he was one of our contemporaries. A sensual creature of the night, a predator that wants to be hunted.
The painted reinterpretation of the animal prints mixed with the signature Davi florals brings a weapon of seduction to the one wearing them.
The panther hunting in the darkness of the night, the feline curiosity of the leopard, the thirst of the white tiger translated into the prints manifest the intimate emotions of this collection.
At the same time the collection tells a story of melancholy and hidden feelings through the delicately hand painted Ocelot that adorn the romantic blouses. The graphic fur patterns, main element of this season’s prints, are similar to delicate petals common to Davi’s universe.
The prints also appear on the cashmere and wool tailored jackets linings, oversize coats with floral embellishments and 70’s tailored trousers.
This season’s wool and mohair knitwear using precious delicate jacquard technique to recreate the animal ornaments are cropped with a dropping shoulder.
The headpieces in collaboration with Francesco Ballestrazzi are unique pieces featuring vintage inspired silk flowers.
